Schroders Builds a Long-Term Partnership with Anglepoint to Support ITAM Needs
Schroders entered the partnership with an established approach to Software Asset Management (SAM), thanks to the expertise of its internal team.
Schroders is a global investment manager which provides active asset management, wealth management and investment solutions. With a legacy spanning over two centuries and seven generations, Schroders supports institutions, intermediaries and individuals to reach their financial goals by building prosperity together. As a UK listed FTSE100 company, Schroders has £778.7 billion (€941.8 billion; $975.3 billion) of assets under management (as of 31 December 2024) and a market capitalisation of circa £6 billion, with over 6,000 employees across 38 locations.
Navigating ITAM Challenges
As a global brand, Schroders manages a comprehensive software estate overseen by its experienced in-house team of ITAM experts. For the last two years, Schroders has been working with Anglepoint to develop a comprehensive program around its IT Asset Management (ITAM) needs, starting with ensuring the optimization of its IBM estate.
Anglepoint–one of only four global IBM Authorized Software Asset Management providers (IASP) was engaged to help with two primary objectives: first, to review the internal implementation of IBM License Metric Tool (ILMT), ensuring the accuracy of the system/software information feeding into it (NB no client data is transferred) and compliance with IBM’s reporting requirements; and second, to onboard Schroders to the IASP program.
By reconciling system/software data within the ILMT estate, Anglepoint ensures that Schroders has trustworthy installation and usage data and remains compliant with the terms and conditions of the software application usage.

Seamless Collaboration
With an established but small internal ITAM team, Schroders values Anglepoint as a strategic SAM managed services partner and an extension of its in-house capabilities. From the outset, Anglepoint demonstrated an ability to integrate quickly and effectively. This strong working relationship has led Schroders to expand its engagement with Anglepoint. Â
Schroders entered the partnership with an established approach to software asset management (SAM), thanks to the expertise of its internal team. However, Schroders was able to evolve its approach by leveraging Anglepoint’s additional resources and specialized knowledge to navigate emerging challenges in ITAM.
One such challenge was the management of a Red Hat audit. Upon receiving the software audit notification, Schroders immediately called Anglepoint for guidance. The entire audit process—from initial notification to completion—was successfully executed in just seven days.
From Strategic Adviser to Trusted Partner
To proactively manage its IT estate, Schroders regularly collaborates with the Anglepoint team, holding monthly meetings or ad-hoc check-ins during peak periods. Beyond these scheduled discussions, Anglepoint remains readily available to provide ITAM expertise and troubleshooting support across Schroders’ broader software ecosystem.
Over time, Anglepoint’s role has expanded to support a broader range of IT Asset Management (ITAM) needs, including further vendor audits and complexities with existing software publishers.
Schroders collaboration with Anglepoint has evolved into a long-term strategic partnership. Anglepoint’s role has expanded from that of a service provider to a trusted advisor to support ITAM needs, reflecting the deepening relationship between the two organizations.
