Attachmate Application Audit Case Study

A major international oil and gas company was being audited around the Attachmate application. The initial auditor report showed significant usage above the license entitlements.

Anglepoint worked with the company and Attachmate to understand the details of the application installation and usage. Anglepoint assisted with negotiations around what constituted license consumption. Anglepoint also helped negotiate with Attachmate that a valid license consumption only occurs if both file and installer evidence for a product are installed on the same device and that file evidence that is not located in a valid installation directory would not be counted (e.g. recycle bin, temp folder, etc.).

Anglepoint’s deep review of the audit findings helped the company determine where “usage“ was being found on each device. Forecasting was completed in less than 3 months, based on reports created for 1-2 years.
