Frequently Asked Questions
What are the major differences between IASP and CVA program?
CVA builds on the IASP program with a smarter approach to software license visibility, budgeting, and compliance empowering organizations to manage their IBM investments with clarity, control, and confidence. Electronic ingestion of License Position (ELP) reports and approval process is all done via the portal. Clients are no longer required to email the report. There’s a single pane of glass with actionable insights.
What security measures are in place to protect hostname/IP data uploaded to IBM’s database, and how is customer access control managed? Is access to the CVA portal and information limited to the customer and the CVA partner or does IBM have access?
Sensitive information such as hostnames or IP addresses is not collected by CVA. IBM personnel have access to insights dashboards, contract management, and entitlement views on the ESM module, but the Declaring Usage tab is not visible to them. Clients retain control over user permissions.
Where does CVA collect information from?
CVA Program Office will pre-populate the portal based on current entitlement data during the onboarding process (sources vary by client but could include DSW, SSABL, and Cadet). The client and partner will have the opportunity to validate the data. Future updates and changes will occur via the ESM Module after the client is fully onboarded.
Where can I learn more about the CVA program?
