Healthcare IBM License & IT Environment Case Study

A lack of robust controls and governance around a leading health care provider’s IT environment resulted in significant risk and IBM license exposure.  The client was unable to accurately measure and account for licenses purchased or deployed.  In addition, required toolsets were not successfully deployed in the environment.

The client brought in Anglepoint to provide a full managed service centered around their IBM family of products.  Anglepoint assisted with the implementation of vendor required tools, which aided in measurement of license consumption.  ​

Anglepoint also individually measured and right sized each product to meet licensing requirements and gain the optimal outcome for the customer.

The project resulted in significant cost savings and risk mitigation.  To-date, there are $5.5M in cost savings calculated for license entitlements not in use, and $9.5M in mitigated risk and cost avoidance thanks to Anglepoint’s ability to identify over-deployed administrator licenses for Cognos Analytics.​
