Salesforce licensing can seem very overwhelming if you aren’t familiar with its products, what they do, and how they are licensed. When customers understand these aspects they can leverage this knowledge into beneficial action to help maintain their Salesforce spend. Here’s a quick overview of Salesforce products and licensing to be aware of.
Salesforce is a customer relationship management platform that is tailored to optimize different aspects of a business. There are multiple different cloud platforms that a customer can purchase – Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Health Cloud, App Cloud, Community Cloud, Analytics Cloud, Internet of Things Cloud, Commerce Cloud, Mulesoft and others. That is an awful lot of clouds.
Because there are so many different products, licensing can get a little tricky. The products can be provisioned to the end user in a lot of different ways. These ways can range anywhere from users, logins, contacts, email, and other methods. It’s best to understand what product associates with which method and which method makes the most sense for your organization’s needs.
